Order: Handmade gnocchi with black truffle cream, seared ahi tuna fillet with honey-ginger sauce, grilled Chilean sea bass, bacon wrapped wild gulf prawns
Quick thoughts:
- GET THE TRUFFLE GNOCCHI.
- Go for Happy Hour. Most food (including the above) are half price, making each dish $5 to $9. Select bottles of wine are $18 [and by select, I mean like 1 red and 1 white]. We got some bottle of red – don’t know the name, but it did its job.
- Gnocchi: Amazing. Pillowy, not overly cheesy, didn’t feel too heavy, came out hot [which I actually find kind of ridiculous to note as a highlight. It’s like saying that the ice cream was served cold.]. Wish there were more mushrooms.
- Chilean sea bass: Based on the pictures I’ve seen on Yelp of the grilled Chilean sea bass, I’m pretty sure we were served the wrong fish. The Yelp pictures showed GRILLED fish [with those sweet, sweet grill lines] whereas we got some sort of fried fish. It was still good though [whatever it was].
- Ahi tuna: Fatty pieces of tuna. Well seared. Good flavour. Surprisingly went well with the lentils [but don’t show this to a Japanese chef – they’ll be confused by this gray, round rice.].
- Bacon wrapped prawns: The prawns tasted like bacon. Need I say more?
