It’s my birthday and I’ll start a blog if I want to

Hi, I’m Chris and here’s a little bit about me:

• I live in Sydney but grew up in Orange County, California.
  • To the non-Australians: Yes, I do have kangaroos in my backyard. How else do you expect me to go to work?
  • To the non-Americans: Yes, I do know Ryan and Marissa. I was like THIS with Marissa until she lezzed out and then it just became all too weird. Let’s just say, someone tried to come on to someone and got rejected and now I’m back to men.
• I’m a lawyer. And no, it’s not like “Suits” so please stop asking.
• I’m single and have been trying pretty damn hard to mingle. I mean, I’ve even had my mom’s real estate agent try to set me up with her client’s son. Now that I’ve exhausted a major real estate agency’s client database, I’m online dating and tinder-ing which is, you know, hilarious at times [I laugh so that I don’t cry or call the police].

Oh, and it’s my birthday today. Like literally. I’m turning 29 years old – the last year of my 20s.

How do I feel about it, you might ask.

Honestly? It’s koo. I’m not one of those people who have grand plans of accomplishing certain things before they’re 30 nor am I the type to do the “normal” thing [or the “normal good Asian girl” thing, the higher and unattainable standard].

However, being in that age group now where most of my friends are achieving significant life milestones [you know, getting married and having babies and shizz] and given that I am not really close to such achievements myself, I thought I would start a blog where I can share some of my often funny [whether intentional or unintentional] life experiences and insights in the hopes of making you laugh and/or reassuring you that there is someone out there who can empathise [in other words, “I feel you”].

So welcome to “The Life Chrisis” [which coincidentally abbreviates to “TLC”], the little ridiculous world that is my life – population 1 and hopefully counting.
